This project is about exploring the boundary between the near and the far, and finding the balance between nature and the bustling city. It’s a space that enables people to get close to nature while immersing in artistic interior scenes.

Danxia World Heritage Gateway in Guizhou
The visitor center welcomes to the core scenic spot of the Danxia World Natural Heritage Site in Chishui region, a popular tourist attraction characterized by a unique red rock landscape, created by reddish accumulation of sandstone. Chishui Danxia landform has been recognized World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2010.

Located in the remote village of Tuanjie, this new building is one of the first projects of a new government policy to help ameliorate rural poverty through the introduction of agricultural tourism. The building aims to become a new centerpiece in the village, catalyzing further development in the area.

The mirrored sight shelter tells the story of the Longli people — a vernacular community that has experienced isolation and tension in southeast Guizhou, China. Yu Qiuyu, the famous writer, once remarked Longli as a lonely islet of the Han culture amidst the minority groups.

Chetian Tourist Center in Guizhou
The Tourist Center is located just outside Chetian Village (车田村), on the main road arriving from Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province. The stone village, famous for its houses built with local blue-stones, has more than 400 years of history and its population is mainly composed by Miao (苗), one of the oldest ethnic minority groups in China.

Danxia landform is a unique red rock landscape located in southern China. Chishui Danxia, in the north of Guizhou province, can be classified as ‘young Danxia’, which is one of the most impressive phases. With an extension of more than 700㎞², it is also the largest Danxia landform in China.

The Huangpi Dong combat site (黄陂洞红军战斗遗址), located in Tiantai Town, 12km from Chishui City,is a well renowned “red tourism” spot in south-west China. At the very top of the mountain, reachable by a steep route through a bamboo forest, the concrete monument stands surrounded by a stunning view.
