Prior to refurbishment the 100-year-old Californian bungalow with red brick façades and terracotta tiled roof was in a poor condition. The geometric front garden was designed by Lachie Anderson Landscapes.

Given the sites contextual tension between urbanism and landscape, the design is squeezed and defensive looking at one end and at the other end expands while the massing breaks down toward nature.
