The New York—based architectural firm Pei Cobb Freed & Partners has been selected to design a major expansion to IESB Brasilia, an international university based in Brazil’s capital, that will more than double the size of the campus with new facilities and open space.
The Cerrado House, designed by Design: Vazio S/A. was built at the foothills of the Sierra da Moeda, a mountain range in the state of Minas Gerais. The three-bedroom house has a rooftop pool and a wide staircase that leads to the rooftop terrace.
Brasilia Architecture Walking Tours – founded in 1960, to serve as the new national capital, Brasília had a population of around 2.8 miliion, making it the 4th most populous city in Brazil. It was planned and developed by Lúcio Costa and Oscar Niemeyer in 1956 in order to move the capital from Rio de Janeiro to a more central location.
