Naturally cross-ventilated, the apartments require no air conditioning. Phuket Gateway, western Thailand IDIN Architects photo : Spaceshift Studio Phuket Gateway - added 14 Jan 2013 The idea is to present the character of vernacular architecture in the south of Thailand through contemporary architecture. Phuket Gateway is to serve as a public space for welcoming the visitors to this province, just like a living room. Hilton Pattaya - Lobby, Bar, Restaurants, and Linkage Spaces Department of ARCHITECTURE photo : Wison Tungthunya Hilton Pattaya - added 24 Apr 2012 This Thai hotel building overlooks the Pattaya beach. The hotel lobby and bar occupies the 17th floor. The architectural intervention to the entire ceiling plane, with its dynamic wave lines, leads the movement of the visitors towards the seafront beyond. The fabric installation on the ceiling becomes a main feature in the space while simple elements on the ground provide a tranquil atmosphere. Fai-Fah, Bangkok Spark photo : Lin Ho Fai-Fah Building Thailand - 11 Apr 2012 Fai-Fah, which means “light energy”, is a corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme initiated in April 2010 by TMB Bank. The programme acts as a catalyst for change in Thai society through working with underprivileged children and teenagers in their community using the arts as a vehicle for self-development and creative thinking. The architects were invited to design Fai-Fah Prachautis, the refurbishment of two shop houses located in a residential district of Bangkok. Klong Toey Community Lantern, Bangkok TYIN tegnestue Architects photo : Pasi Aalto / pasiaalto.com Klong Toey Community Lantern - added 29 Mar 2012 Klong Toey is currently the largest and oldest areas of informal dwellings in Bangkok. More than 140,000 people are estimated to live here, and most are living in sub-standard houses with few or no tenure rights or support from the government. Soneva Kiri Resort, Koh Kood, Gulf of Thailand 24H > architecture photo from architects Six Senses' Soneva Kiri Resort - 12 Feb 2012 The 6 star hotel resort Soneva Kiri is located on Koh Kood, an island in the Gulf of Thailand. At this unique site, 24H-architecture designed a series of ecological icons to contribute to Six Senses' high ambitions in design and ecology. Thailand Building - Recent Designs Hansar Bangkok WOHA photograph © Patrick Bingham-Hall Hansar Bangkok - 9 Feb 2012 This building by WOHA is located in the heart of Bangkok, surrounded by luxury hotels, shopping areas, and a large city park. The site is small and irregular, with a building plot ratio of 1:10. The design captures the value of the site by maximizing the building area and contributing to the urban environment with its planted facades, sky gardens and sky pavilions. Panyaden School, Chiang Mai 24H > architecture photo © Ally Taylor / Panyaden School Thailand School Building - added 8 Feb 2012 In the lush green surroundings of a former fruit orchard, where highest mountains in Thailand meet the flat rice fields, 24H were contracted to design its environmentally friendly school buildings. Located south of the city of Chiang Mai, this 5,000 m2 primary school consists of an informal arrangement of pavilions (salas), organized along pathways inspired by the shape of the tropical antler horn fern.
