Bishopsgate tower : 35 storeys, 165m high – 3rd tallest building in City of London
Built at an estimated cost of £240m, this skyscraper building marked the next major phase of construction
in the Broadgate estate that began in the 1980s to provide high-specification office space for the Square Mile (the City of London). The tower is situated in the northeast corner of the City of London, north of Liverpool Street station.

Beetham Tower : tallest building in the UK outside London – 172m
Designed by Manchester-based firm, Ian Simpson Architects, the Hilton Hotel tower was completed in early 2007. It includes 218 premium apartments and a 279 room five star Hilton Hotel. The remarkable crystalline blade which stretches 25 metres above the building, providing a buffer zone from the sun for the glass facade

A landmark slender tower, which will house a six-star hotel and apartments, next to the Thames at One Blackfriars Road SE1, was given the go-ahead by Southwark Council last night (18 December) following modifications to the scheme agreed with English Heritage. This follows planning consent being granted by Southwark on 24 July this year, subject to the approval of the Secretary of State and English Heritage.

This famous London tower building is a substantial concrete and glass office building in central London, occupying 101–103 New Oxford Street, WC1, close to St Giles Circus and almost directly above Tottenham Court Road tube station. The site was once occupied by a gallows. One of the first skyscrapers in London, it is now the city’s joint 27th tallest building.
