Immediately the building shows its interior composed of debate and meeting areas. The luminous web of the various rooms is defined by the office buildings, which are coiling around and over it, thus diffusing the natural light and multiplying the sights. In 2008, an international competition was co-organised by The Brussels Regional Authority and the European Commission, to create a powerful image of the European entity, and the symbol of its integration into the Belgian capital, whilst at the same time, creating functional and social density, by building residential units, commercial structures and public spaces. Located at the top of a hill, the institution overviews the city’s landscape, major and reassuring presence. CasaArt Casablanca, Morocco image © Atelier d'architecture Christian de Portzamparc “A Cultural Medina” In Casablanca (Morocco), on the “Mohammed 5th" Square, vast and imposing institutional composition, the CasaArts project, the biggest theatre in Africa, (polyvalent hall of 1800 seats, a modular theatre hall of 600 seats, “open to the public” rehearsal studio’s, cultural event halls), a “cultural intensity” centre, with shopping facilities, restaurants, café, cyber-space, a reading library, exhibition hall, and art galleries.
