The architecture office from São Paulo, Brazil, aflalo/gasperini has just launched it’s newest project.

Urbanity is a mixed use complex located in a ‘noble’ area in São Paulo. With a corporate and a residential tower plus a commercial space, Urbanity follows one of the biggest contemporary urbanistic trends in São Paulo.

With no grids or security walls, the building offers a quality space for the population with a wooded square created in the space between the two edifices.
United, Urbanity’s two units form an expressive and unique complex with great synergy.

The implantation of the towers is parallel to the Marginal Pinheiros, one of the mains streets in the city.
However, the two edifices are not aligned with each other, ensuring visual privacy between them and a beautiful view to the Burle Marx Park, one of the main parks in São Paulo.

AFLALO/GASPERINI LAUNCHES URBANITY IN PRIVILEDGED AREA IN SÃO PAULO

Mixed use project features contemporary architecture and unique id exploring a language with plaques and portics in its composition.

São Paulo, November 2017 – Following the urbanistic tendency of mixed use complexes in São Paulo, aflalo/gasperini arquitetos delivers Ubranity, new commercial, residential and corporative project, located in the South Zone of São Paulo city.

In this project, the architecture office searched to implant and reflect on its urbanistic concerns and walked towards the creation of a complex that was integrated to the city, bringing quality spaces with no grids or security walls.

“Urbanity is opened to the city. We have combined a corporative tower with more presence in the Marginal Pinheiros street and a residential one guarded by it”, explains Grazzieli Gomes, partner and architect in the office.

The retreat between the towers enabled the creation of a big access square that is opened to the neighbourhood and connected to a green area. The 2400m² square filters the visual and sound impact from the street, bringing more tranquility to the intern space and creating a pleasant landscape.

Together, the Urbanity edifices form a very expressive and unique ensemble with a great synergy, without losing their individuality. The implantation of the two towers in na misaligned disposal, guarantees total visual privacy between the uses and a beautiful view to the Burle Marx Park, one of the city’s main parks.

The formal language of the towers uses plaques that highlight the edifices verticality, standing out in the penthouse and creating a portic that frames the glass skin of the corporative tower. In the residential one, the plaques hold the terraces and get doubled in the penthouse, forming a crowning that dialogues with the corporative’s portic. The terraces count with a movement in the sill, bringing diversity to the façade.

Following the same DNA, the corporate rooms are also delimited by the plaques, forming a big box and highlighting the tower’s specific use. Both towers form a very expressive complex with an unique id and urbanity, hence the project’s name. In the terrace, the office added a set of columns and built halls that are 10m high, bringing importance to the building’s accesses.
