Architecture and Design Awards
In November 2009 the project was awarded in London in the European Hotel Design Awards 2009 for the Architecture of the Year for best conversion of an existing building to hotel use.

“The look of Andel´s Lodz was achieved by contrasting the preserved industrial fabric of the building with strong, but spare, contemporary interventions. Whilst there are elements of the design that bear resemblance to its predecessors, this hotel certainly has some unique features.”

In January 2010 the project was awarded in New York in the Contract Magazine Interior Awards 2010 in the category Adaptive Reuse.

Jury comment: “This a great example of how one can insert a new and dynamic object into an existing space to create a sense of unexpected spontaneity. Strong color and form in juxtaposition with sinewy, rhythmic structure is effective in highlighting the adapted intervention. Each aspect is executed with enthusiasm and respect. Lighting is inspired!”

Investments Awards
In November 2009 the project was awarded in Warsaw in CIJ Awards 2009 by Construction & Investment Journal for Best Hotel Development and Best Overall Development in Poland.

The jury chose the project for its “unique location reengineered from its industrial beginnings” and an interior that “includes many historical elements and unique features which are carried through the entire hotel.”
