Football star David Beckham moves forward with building a home for his professional MLS soccer team – Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami – in Miami, FL.

A public vote approved the project on about 73 acres of city-owned Melreese golf course near Miami International Airport.

The privately financed $1 billion retail, office, hotel and stadium complex is designed by local design studio Arquitectonica is the architect.

The vote took place on 6 November 2018 and allows city officials to negotiate a no-bid 99-year lease deal for David Beckham’s soccer stadium.

The development entails around 1 million sqft of office, retail and commercial space, a minimum of 750 hotel rooms, a 25,000-seat stadium and a 58-acre public park.

The developers pledge to give the city $5m to complete the Baywalk and Riverwalk. The golf course sits on toxic ash meanign a hefty clean-up bill.

The setting for this Miami house is on a pie shaped lot on the southern tip of Dilido Island with superb views of the islands, downtown and South Beach. The house spills out onto the longer, waterfront elevation and draws on the jet-set lifestyle of Biscayne Bay, to evoke the experience of being on the deck of a super yacht.

This is a design that blends Chotto Matte’s signature Tokyo urban vibe with Miami’s tropical life. The 220-seat restaurant and bar features Shou Sugi Ban wood ceilings, a highly graphic marble floor and lush, hanging gardens.

The major building elements are aligned as a campus connected by “The Boulevard.” The Boulevard is a passenger walkway at the center of the terminal, and will lead passengers anywhere they need to go while being surrounded by gardens, fountains, art, a beautiful architectural skylight, interactive media features, and innovative retail and concessions.

The new flagship store of the furniture brand is designed and directed by Ramón Esteve Estudio and the artist Okuda San Miguel is the author of the painting on the large façade.

A massive concrete structure featuring more than 6,500 seats, this Miami building was constructed in 1963 and is considered a monumental achievement in civic architecture and modern construction.

The architects propose to roll out an urban fabric of paths and plazas, parks and gardens that forms an archipelago of urban oases throughout the site. At the heart of it – we introduce a central square to become the pivoting point of the entire neighborhood. Becoming the front door to the convention center, and the convention hotel, a front lawn to the revitalized Jackie Gleason Theatre, a town square for the city hall, an outdoor arena for the Latin American Cultural Museum, and the red carpet for the big botanical ball room.

This building replaced the legacy of the memorable Orange Bowl in Little Havana, adjacent to downtown Miami. Situated on the same footprint, the ballpark is intended to be the anchor for infill and redevelopment on the site. This 37,000-seat MLB facility includes a retractable roof to shield spectators from the sun and rain, inherently changing the perception of summertime baseball in Florida for generations to come.

After years of planning and widespread community support, the new Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science today broke ground in Downtown Miami’s Museum Park on the 24th of February. The groundbreaking ceremony took place at the museum’s new site overlooking Biscayne Bay, marking the continuation of Miami’s rise as one of the world’s most culturally rich cities. The groundbreaking event marks the beginning of construction, with the new museum scheduled to open to the public by early 2015.
