“Culture is alive, it belongs to human, civilization is a combination of culture, Chinese traditional architecture is the crystal of ancient science and art, it is the showcase of development of culture and materializes of development. During our design of the temple, we follow the idea of traditional architect and pick the most profoundly , philosophical and aesthetic “the architecture case of Tang Dynasty”, no matter the deep eaves or the piles of brackets, all show the unification of constructing function and beauty of shape.

The temple uses “space” “group” as an unit, and use different atmosphere as direction, which implement the “Fengshui” culture, equipped with local material such as bricks, stones, and woods, forming an architecture group which can run through organization and move step by step and utterly uniformed, the temple reflects the understanding of designers towards ancient architecture and follow the nature circumstance and local culture, which fulfilled the procedure of “inheritate-transfer-innovation” —- Qi Zhe (Principle Architect)

The case is set out for restoring the prosperity of a local temple. During the design, the architects find that its landscape, centuries-old history and the passion of local people require a temple which is magnificent but remains noble to reshape the memory of the site.

In order to design the temple, we referred to plenty of historic files and chose some of the most philosophical and aesthetical “Architecture examples of Tang Dynasty ” in which ,no matter the profound eave or the piles of brackets all show the magnificent of the construction and the beauty of style. Furthermore, the nature environment and the man-made garden, the variety of landscape, which enable the temple to melting into the life of local people and heritage the religions tradition and producing positive effect.

Innovative Ideas
The Chinese traditional religion architecture has been using the axis and momentum of Palace architecture. The case has reached the distance in creativity, shaping, layout and sense which no design has reached before. It lies against the mountain and facing the water, Yin and Yang embrace each other, regarding the temple as the shape and the mountain as the momentum, which all comes from the nature, just like a Chinese painting of mountain and water. And the creativity and the methods of the case is a regression and insistence on Chinese traditional culture. And constructing a city into palace, using the lane as model, and the architecture group uses the yard as model, single architecture use Doukou as model. After the traditional construction method being put away for a long time, we’ll make use of it again to inheritating and exploring.

The building culture of China is just like a flying dragon which needs to search for a new sense of value. In our design, we realized the perfect combination of tradition and modern, on one way, we standardize and rationalize the model of ”Caifen” “Doukou” in traditional architecture, thus making it unified in quantized architecture rule principles, on another way, we can use plenty of photo degradable organic constructing materials, such as concert , mortar, and Tong oil, which reduce the constructing cost and the release of pollution, by improving the craft we strengthened the quality of product, reduced the fee and maintenance of the product .

The architects also searched the influences of physical factors towards human being and environment, including to the direct sunlight and diffused light, as well as the reaction of architecture towards acoustical, visual, touching reaction. For example, in order to use the direct sunlight as the lighting, we determine to use the terrain layout of architecture, and use the angle of incidence to determine the orientation and depth of building, by using the comparison of measure and color, and the dealing of acoustical environment, to produce a feeling of shocks.
