6-8 Bishopsgate and 150 Leadenhall Tower Planning Submission News

The WilkinsonEyre designed tower on the site of 6-8 Bishopsgate and 150 Leadenhall was submitted for planning to the City of London Corporation this week.

The proposed 40-storey tower in the heart of the city will provide an office-led, mixed-use tower with flexible retail space at ground and mezzanine floor levels and a public viewing gallery at level 40.

Designed with client Mitsubishi Estate London, the 71,501m² building comprises a series of stacked blocks responding to its urban context.

The proposed building will include high sustainability and low energy features and will also exceed the threshold for the BREEAM NC 2014 “Excellent” rating.

The latest building proposal for the City of London. The 37-storey tower is located just north west of historic Leadenhall Market. It is on the corner of Leadenhall Street and Bishopsgate.

The 22 Bishopsgate tower under construction by Multiplex for AXA Investment Managers Real Assets, will be 255 m (840 feet) tall.

The City of London has granted planning permission for revised proposals by PLP which reduces the building height by 23m.

The tower is set to reign briefly as the tallest building in the City of London until Aroland Holdings’ 1 Undershaft Tower completes, which will be 290m high.

This City office development is due to have a population of 12,000 office workers over its 59 storeys.

The City of London resolved to approve the 295-metre tall building in November 2015, subject to a final decision by the mayor of London.
