AMEX Office Development in Sussex
Edward Street Quarter Building, England, UK – design by EPR Architects

AMEX Offices Brighton
EPR Architects Granted Planning Permission for New Offices for AMEX in Brighton
The scheme involves the masterplanning of the Edward Street Quarter of Brighton and providing replacement accommodation for the existing occupants of the current office building, together with some expansion space which can also be used for the relocation of staff from other locations.
The masterplan attempts to mend the broken urban fabric by creating streets and a square to replace the existing building. The form of the new building has developed out of an expression of the topography, and a desire to respond to the key views of the scheme from the North and West.
Internally the building responds to the specific operational requirements of the client with large, flexible will lit spaces throughout.
The proposed development adopts a sustainable approach to office development and represents an efficient use of a brownfield site. It adopts an energy efficient strategy which embraces low carbon and renewable energy technology, seeks to deliver resource conservation, and use sustainable materials. These include extensions of green and brown roofs and water harvesting throughout.
Rating : BREEAM – Very Good (Design Stage)
