The Architectural Review’s prestigious awards for emerging architects took place last night at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) in London.

The evening was hosted by Catherine Slessor, Editor of The Architectural Review, marking the opening of the Emerging Architecture exhibition, which will be running at RIBA until the end of January.

All entries were judged by a distinguished international jury chaired by AR Editor Catherine Slessor. This year’s jury includes Eric Owen Moss (USA), Manuelle Gautrand (France) and Peter Cook (UK) – see more details on the judges here

Now in their 15th year, the AR+D Awards for Emerging Architecture exceeded expectations, with a record number of entries competing for an overall prize fund of £10,000. As well as the four joint winners, the jury decided to highly commend 10 further projects. See all the winners and highly commended entries here.

AR+D Awards for Emerging Architecture

Now in their 15th year, the AR+D Awards for Emerging Architecture are the world’s most popular and prestigious awards for young architects, giving emerging practices invaluable impetus on their trajectory to wider recognition and success. Previous winners of the Awards have included Sou Fujimoto (Japan), Thomas Heatherwick (UK), Sean Godsell (Australia), Jurgen Mayer H. (Germany) and Li Xiaodong (China).

The awards celebrate excellence in completed work with a prize fund of £10,000. Entries can be made across a very broad spectrum of design: for example buildings, interiors, landscape and urban projects, furniture and product designs are all eligible. Projects must be realised and entrants must be under 45.
