Opening up and restructuring the churchyard at St John the Baptist Church has long been seen as an opportunity for improving the appearance and amenity of the public realm in the Chipping Barnet town centre. The churchyard is an ancient burial ground between two listed buildings and falls within the Wood Street Conservation Area. A number of protected trees and a retained war memorial sit within the boundaries of the site.

Museum of Conflict
Design Competition win
This London-based architecture practice has won a closed competition for the new Museum of Conflict in Tripoli, Libya. The museum will house permanent and special exhibitions on Libya’s unique history, telling the story of campaigns and conflicts that have shaped the country from colonial power to independent state.
The building’s main design concept is inspired by tented structures used by the Bedouin. The 15,000 sqm museum will be enclosed by a light weight, camouflaging ‘veil’, giving the building a dynamic, environmentally responsive and functional form.
