Editorial Team

The website is directed by Adrian Welch & Isabelle Lomholt with assistance from Georgina and Daniel, and various other writers across the globe.

Isabelle, Adrian, Georgina and Daniel prepare the website articles plus facebook posts and tweets.

Adrian Welch

Adrian Welch

Adrian completed his Architecture degree in 1992 at Manchester University and graduated from The Bartlett School of Architecture in 1995 with a Diploma in Architecture.

He has worked for architects such as Eva Jiřičná CBE RA, Sir Terence Conran, Richard Murphy OBE, RMJM and Sutherland Hussey. Adrian has worked in the field of architecture across the world, in cities such as London, Dubai, Hong Kong, Cambridge, Kuwait City and Edinburgh.

His interests focus on high-quality contemporary architecture, with a particular emphasis on sustainable building design and pedestrian-friendly cityscapes. The website shows a wide range of architectural styles including traditional, neoclassical and Postmodern.

Adrian is open to featuring an eclectic range of work provided each project provides the reader with something significantly interesting and worthwhile. Having worked in design practices that follow what has been termed ‘contemporary architecture’ – such as Eva Jiricna Architects and RMJM – naturally his interest has aligned to this way of thinking.

His father is the ecologist David Welch, and his mother, Muriel Welch, was a town planner in England and Scotland, before switching to a musical career.

Isabelle Lomholt

Isabelle Lomholt

Isabelle Lomholt completed her Architecture degree in 1995 at North London University, since renamed as London Metropolitan University. She has worked for Hunt Thompson (London, now known as HTA Design), GRD (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – the architectural office for Ken Tan Property Development) and the Edinburgh Architectural Association (EAA, in Edinburgh, Scotland).

She is the daughter of Danish film-maker and installation artist Niels Lomholt. Her mother, Jane Lomholt, was a Professor of Architecture prior to retirement.

Georgina Gray

Georgina Gray

I grew up in Dumfries and Galloway living on my family’s dairy farm. I graduated from Newcastle University in 2018 with a BSc in Oral and Dental Health Sciences.

During the pandemic, I decided to retrain as a Nurse and completed my master’s at Northumbria University in January 2023. When I’ve not got a broken leg I like to be active, playing golf and plenty of walks with my dog Max.

Daniel Lomholt-Welch

Daniel Lomholt-Welch

I grew up in Haddington, East Lothian, before studying architecture at the University of Edinburgh.

I am currently in the final year of studying for a masters. I am especially interested in studying sacred space within modernist architecture.

I have travelled extensively, with a keen eye for architectural gems along the way.
