Ian Ritchie Architects' bridge proposal over the River Avon, in Stratford-upon-Avon, central England: abandoned in July 2008
The Stratford bridge was a competition winner but local opposition seems to have scuppered it, a bit like some other attempts at contemporary architecture in the UK - such as Zaha Hadid's Cardiff Opera House, and almost the Holburne Museum of Art by Eric Parry.
