Yokohama Landmark Tower Japan – World’s Fastest Elevators
The world’s second-fastest, located in the Yokohama Landmark Tower, “only” manages a speed of 750 meters per minute.

The Yokohama Landmark Tower is the tallest building in Japan and 3rd tallest structure in Japan.
The building contains a five-star hotel, occupying floors 49-70, with 603 rooms.
The lower 48 floors contain shops, restaurants, clinics and offices.
On the 69th floor there is an observatory, Sky Garden.
Location: right next to Yokohama Museum of Art, in the Minato Mirai 21 district of Yokohama city, south of Tokyo.
When the building opened it had the highest observation deck in Japan.
Yokohama Landmark Tower has a total of 79 elevators. The building has the fastest elevator in Japan. It takes 40 seconds to travel from the second to the 69th floor.
These are the world’s 2nd fastest elevators, originally world’s fastest. The elevators’s speed record was surpassed by elevators of Taipei 101 in 2004.
The building was designed by Hugh Stubbins and Associates, now KlingStubbins.
