World Architecture Festival awards 2017 – WAF returns for its tenth edition at the Arena Berlin in Germany from 15-17 November 2017, the world’s largest, annual, international architectural event. Judges include Nathalie de Vries, Director & Co-founder of MVRDV and Simon Allford, Co-founder and Director at AHMM.

Winner for Carbuncle Cup 2017, architecture’s award for Britain’s worst building, revealed by BD: Nova Victoria office development in London’s Victoria by PLP Architecture: architects for shortlisted buildings were AHR, Cooley Architects, Vivid Architects, Simpson Haugh and ESA Architecture
From a pool of 71 entries, 33 projects have been shortlisted in the nation’s premier awards for excellence and innovation in urban design. The architectural awards recognize contemporary Australian urban design of the highest quality and encourage cities, towns and communities across the country to strive for best practice.
The competition honours outstanding products in all areas of interior design, looking for innovative excellence. The contest is aimed at interior design, interior architecture & furnishing sectors. The German Design Council has created a platform for linking architects and property developers with the furniture industry.
Jo da Silva of Arup, awarded The Institution of Structural Engineers’ 2017 Gold Medal. The prize recognises the outstanding leadership she has provided as both a structural and humanitarian engineer. She co-ordinated over 100 humanitarian agencies to provide transitional shelter in Sri Lanka after the Indian Ocean Tsunami.
The prestigious international awards return with a refreshed identity and a total prize fund of 39,000 euros distributed between three categories: Architecture, Interior Design and Final Degree Project.
One of Europe’s leading women architects, Manuelle Gautrand, is named as this year’s Laureate of The European Prize for Architecture for her body of works that celebrate boldness and non-conformity in a world torn by extreme modernity and a reactionary return to the past.
The International Committee of Architectural Critics (CICA) presents the winners of the 2017 Book, Exhibition Catalogue and Journalism Awards, as they were announced at the CICA Symposium held within the UIA World Congress Seoul 2017 on 4 September 2017.
