Dutch team wins Icelandic architecture competition: two Rotterdam based offices will design the new redevelopment plan of an industrial seaside area in Reykjavik. The plan consists of 110.000 square meters of mixed use program, including four hundred new dwellings.

Teiknistofan Tröð wins 1st prize in open two stage competition in Reykjavik, Iceland: pedestrian and bicycle bridges designed in the shape of a triangular pyramid. The deck is held up with steel wires that connect to the top of the pyramid.

Designed by Henning Larsen Architects with a façade by Olafur Eliasson, Harpa is the home of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Icelandic Opera, and thus a major addition to the Icelandic and European cultural scene.
