A dynamic and evolutionary interior design project featuring innovative materials and technologies, by DuPont™ Corian® in collaboration with Christian Ghion, Créa Diffusion, Gaggenau, Blum, Koledo, Moroso, Powermat Technologies, Power Matters Alliance and Rexa Design.

March 2014 – A new and exclusive manufacturing technology, innovative solutions for our increasingly digital society, the fascination of translucency with advanced lighting and electronics systems. Take all these elements and combine them with high quality design and furnishing solutions and the result is “Corian® 2.0”, a design exhibition demonstrating the evolutionary capabilities of DuPont™ Corian®, which will take place during the 2014 Milan week of design.

The “Corian® 2.0” design exhibition will showcase:
– Innovative and proprietary DeepColour™ Technology, enabling the production of higher performance dark colours of DuPont™ Corian®;
– The integration of DuPont™ Corian® with state-of-the-art systems by Powermat Technologies and Power Matters Alliance for wireless recharging and smartphone networking;
– The combination of DuPont™ Corian® with electronic and LED technologies made by Koledo to create dynamic, decorative interior cladding solutions.

“DeepColour™ Technology* – a key innovation presented at “Corian® 2.0” design exhibition – is a unique manufacturing solution developed by DuPont. It enables the production of DuPont™ Corian® solid surfaces in dark colours which offer deeper, more intense and durable colour, improved wear performance and easier thermoforming, seaming and finishing.

The overall performance of dark DuPont™ Corian® solid surfaces made with DeepColour™ Technology* is superior to any other dark solid surface material available in the market. Through this proprietary technology, we can meet the needs of industrial companies, architects, designers and final users looking for advanced materials in dark tones, offering high performance, elegance, reliability and hygiene,” says Jean-Yves Bach, DuPont Building Innovations, Business Director, Europe Middle East and Africa.

The scenography of the entire “Corian® 2.0” exhibition will be created by renowned French designer Christian Ghion.

The exhibition will consist of three scenes:
– a kitchen scene, conceived by Christian Ghion and fabricated by French company Créa Diffusion, with appliances by Gaggenau and functional hardware for kitchen cabinets by Blum;
– a bathroom scene conceived by Christian Ghion using bathroom furnishing solutions and accessories designed and produced by Rexa Design;
– a lounge scene, created by Christian Ghion, featuring the Ambium® Dynamic Ledwall by Koledo in DuPont™ Corian® and including furnishing solutions from the Moroso production.

Each area will showcase applications of the dark tones of DuPont™ Corian® made with DeepColour™ Technology*, and the combination of DuPont™ Corian® with PMA-compatible wireless recharging systems from Powermat Technologies.
