Results of competition to create architectural concept of Sberbank technopark announced

Sberbank Technopark Competition, Skolkovo Innovation Centre

April 2016, Moscow — The results of the international competition to create the architectural concept for Sberbank’s technopark in Skolkovo Innovation Centre have been announced. The architecture competition was won by Zaha Hadid Architects.

Five leading architecture firms were selected to participate in the competition: Foster + Partners (UK), Zaha Hadid Architects (UK), Eric Owen Moss Architects (US), SPEECH (Russia); Fuksas (Italy). These companies developed architectural projects for Sberbank’s technopark from December 2015 to April 2016.

«We appraised the advanced achievements of modern architectural science that will be used to create our unique facility. Sberbank’s technopark will become a centre of expertise for the company and a driver of IT innovation,» commented Herman Gref, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of Sberbank.

The competition was held with support from the Moscow City Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning. The organiser was State Unitary Enterprise «Research and Project Institute of Moscow City Master Plan».

Zaha Hadid Architects was founded in 1979. The architecture studio is world-famous thanks to its projects that incorporate revolutionary developments and the research of Zaha Hadid.
