New visuals released for London residential development
PAD studio have released visuals for a new home for Enfield, London. The imaginative scheme makes the most of the restricted site, delivering an attractive, design led home which meets space standards as outlined in the London Housing Design Guide. The scheme will be developed on a backland site in north London, which is currently uninviting scrubland adjacent to garages.

The dwelling has two bedrooms, bathroom and study on the first floor, with the ground floor largely open plan with access to a private south facing courtyard garden. Due to the site restrictions the house has been designed with a kinked plan, with part single and part two storey form.
An intensive green roof is provided over the single-story element to improve visual amenity for residents and a monopitch roof to the two-storey part of the building presents a lower eaves height to the east, allowing more sunlight to permeate into the garden.
The front elevation features concrete detailing and an angled window, designed out of weathered steel as a design reference to Enfield’s industrial past. The design of this window and perforated detailing mitigates any overlooking issues.
This project is one of a series of residential developments PAD studio are working on with an Enfield based housing provider to deliver a series of high quality, considered infill developments on residual backland sites in the Borough.
