Evelina Children’s Hospital Expansion

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust has announced plans for a major expansion of the Evelina London hospital in Westminster, the capital’s second largest facility for children.

London architects Hawkins Brown have been selected to design a five-storey adaptable extension that is just one part of a £250m expansion plan.

The development is known as the ‘Triangle site’.

Architects NBBJ are advising the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust.

Stirling Prize Review – extract:
The Evelina hospital is formed from two main elements, the standard box and a glassy volume nuzzling up to it with a curved & glazed roof form…the expressed steelwork and the emphasis on a light-filled atrium are typical of this genre, initially made famous by Norman Foster and Richard Rogers.

Location: Westminster Bridge Road, South London, England, UK
