This theatre complex was built for local and regional theatrical artistes and companies. There are two theatres and six rehearsal rooms incorporated into the first and second floors of the former 1848 Stansfield Chambers and Electric Press building on Millennium Square, Leeds.
This Grade II Listed building formerly housed the West Riding Carriage Manufactory, hence the new theatre’s name of the Carriageworks.
All the former tenants of the building were moved out in 1999 and the site was then redeveloped.
