Swire Hotels Win Top Hospitality Awards Around the World
Swire Hotels is delighted to reveal the prestigious awards it has won in the past year for its collection of hotels in Asia.
The Upper House in Hong Kong was awarded “Best Overseas Business Hotel” in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers’ Travel Awards 2011, as well as “Best for Rooms” in Condé Nast Traveller Gold List 2012, while both Quintessentially Asia Pacific and Preferred Hotels labelled the 117-room property “Best Hotel of the Year”.
Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific (HICAP) voted The Upper House the “Sustainable Hotel Award – Sustainable Project Design” for its environmental and innovative service concept, and the hotel was also included in Monocle’s Travel Top 50 2011/2012 “Best Set-Up for In-Room Entertaining”, and Trip Advisor’s Travellers’ Choice 2012 – “Top 25 Hotels & Trendiest Hotels in China”. The Australian Wish also awarded The Upper House the “Best Mini-Bar” award.
The Opposite House in Beijing has also received a series of international awards from travel, design and restaurant & bar outlets. They include “Best Hotels for Ambience and Design” in 2011, and “Best for food” in 2012 in the Condé Nast Traveller Gold List. Virtuoso also voted The Opposite House for its Virtuoso Performance Award.
EAST, the second property in Hong Kong, opened in January 2010 and won The Hot List 2011 by Condé Nast Traveller. It also received the HA+D Award for “Design Excellence: Hotel Interior Design” by Hospitality Architecture + Design.

Swire Hotels has launched a new collection of locally inspired and stylish hotels in the heart of great British towns and cities called Chapter Hotels. The first hotel in the collection, The Montpellier Chapter, opened on the 29th November in Cheltenham. The second Chapter hotel will open in Exeter in 2012.
