The ambition is to advance the Eden mission by establishing collaborative Eden projects with international partners across the globe. Grimshaw Architects is designing the China, Australia and New Zealand projects.

Design by ABIR architects of a 850sqm visitor centre with gallery, café, retail and community spaces. The transitional gateway design connects the museum to two new clusters of buildings facing a central entrance court. The museum holds a collection of over 50 vernacular buildings spanning almost 10 centuries.

Bespoke joinery using European oak forms interior design elements such as the staircase, handrails and worktops. The simple rectilinear building forms are clad in Siberian larch rainscreen cladding. A bright red door and simple yellow L-shaped hood over a feature window add focus.

The Saw-mill Shelter, located in the Architectural Association estate, was designed and built by students with the help of the school faculty and Arup engineers. Each lath carries up to two tonnes of tension, demonstrating the remarkable strength of wood.
