We are happy to announce that Architecture Festival CANactions, has launched School for Urban Studies in Kyiv, Ukraine!
This Autumn they are going to have the first Studio which will be dedicated to Guiding Plan as a tool for contemporary cities development.
During three months participants of the Studio #1 will study international experience of management and development of urban environment, gain the skills of urban research methodology, conduct a field-trip and work on the Ivano-Frankivsk development strategy under the curatorship of the leading Swiss urbanist Urs Thomann.
The studying process will include:
– intensive work within the international interdisciplinary team;
– constant communication with international urban experts;
– focus on case studies;
– working on a real project;
– possibility to get the internship or a job in prominent companies and bureau that are working on projects of urban development
Fee for participation in Studio #1 is 9800 UAH ( 400 Euros). Participants will be chosen in a competitive basis due to the results of two rounds – the applied documents and short skype interview in English.
To participate in the first round, the candidates are required to send:
1. CV (must contain personal details, education, level of English, and also your experience in urban projects, participation in social and cultural projects, workshops, master-classes, educational programs etc.)
2. Motivation letter should describe why exactly you want to become Studio#1 participant, your vision of professional activities after the graduation from Studio#1
3. Portfolio must contain examples of your design, architectural or urban projects, extracts from your written reports, publications, research and analytical work etc. Portfolio has to contain up to 5 projects, no more than 10 pages overall, and should not exceed 20 MB. Each project must be signed with title, year, explanation, significance and amount of work the candidate has conducted for the project.
4. Scanned copy of passport.
5. Scanned copy of University Diploma. Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree.
The application deadline is August 2, 2015 at 23:59 (UA time).
