‘Babyn Yar – Dorogozhychi Necropolis’ International Architecture Competition

Procedure:

International architectural ideas single-stage competition with open application procedure for the selection of 7 best projects, with the requirement that the authors of winning designs submit materials for the exhibition.

The competition is held with the support of the International Union of Architects (UIA) http://www.uia.archi.

Eligibility: Participants in the competition are expected to be professional architects, landscape architects, and urban planners who have the right to provide professional design services according to the laws of the country where they are based. Design teams headed by a professional architect, landscape architect, or urban planner who have the right to provide professional design services can also participate. Participants may be citizens of any country.

Jury:

An independent jury of renowned international and local experts includes: Barbara Aronson (urban and town planner, landscape architect / Israel), Marti Franch Batllori (landscape architect / Spain), Markus Jatsch (architect / United Kingdom), Mykhaylo Hershenzon (architect / Ukraine), Jörg Michel (landscape architect, landscape gardener / Germany), Jimmy Norrman (landscape architect, architect / Sweden), Serhiy Tselovalnyk (chief architect of Kyiv in 2010-2015 / Ukraine), UIA (International Union of Architects) representative Olivier Philippe (landscape architect / France), doctor Vladyslav Hrynevych (historian, political scientist / Ukraine), doctor Dieter Pohl (historian / Germany), Professor James E. Young (historian / USA).

Prizes:

Authors of 7 best projects will be awarded the following prizes: 17,000 USD; 12,000 USD; 7,000 USD and 4 honorable mentions in the amount of 3,000 USD each. Authors of 7 best projects will also receive an honorarium for submitting materials for the exhibition in the amount of 3,000 USD each.
