Pista Cubierta de Atletismo de Cataluna en Sabadell
Located in a sports complex in the Sant Oleguer neighborhood, the stadium, with capacity for 2,500 spectators, is the main piece of the complex; as such, it constitutes an important point of reference for the city.
The stadium is located in a long and narrow strip that presented a large unevenness in section and an intensely marked asymmetry. The building would adapt to the place while minimizing its impact on the landscape.
The projected structure consists of a large roof that seems to unfold following the topographic movement of the transverse and longitudinal axis of the site. It is a continuous, light and almost immaterial element that floats on the interior space. One of the most important considerations in the development of the project design was to give the roof some autonomy so that the shape of the roof did not have to be identical to that of the track.
