PROFILE
RSI – which stands for Réel, Symbolique, Imaginaire (Real, Symbolic, Imaginary) – is a 3D visualization agency founded in 2007 in Paris by Matthieu Blancher & Gael Nys.

Graduates of the Camondo School in Paris, the image of architecture soon became fertile ground for their research on both technical and aesthetic levels.

RSI-studio collaborates with French and international architects such as MVRDV, BIG, Dominique Perrault and Marc Barani on commissions for 3D images and architectural films.

VISION

RSI-studio develops a complex and comprehensive model of the scene where the images are created. This includes the architecture and its environment, the climate, materials and figures, as in a diorama.

The work of RSI-studio is distinguished by the “silence” released by their images, the sophisticated textures, the accuracy of the light settings, the tight framing and often square or vertical formats.

In many respects, the RSI-studio images evoke objective photography. The resolution of the images created is similar to that of large-format photography; the focal lengths are decreased and compositions are often frontal.

The accuracy and consistency of the 3D model are what make it possible to seamlessly integrate computer-generated images and high definition photographs of urban or landscape contexts, as illustrated by a recent collaboration with photographer Julien Lanoo.

RSI-studio also produces architectural films for competitions and real estate projects as evidenced by their recent productions for the MVRDV, BIG and Publicis Groupe agencies.
