Benoy’s Westgate and EAST Hotel Win Asia Pacific Property Awards
Benoy is honoured to announce that Westgate, Singapore and EAST Hotel, Beijing have both collected 2014 Asia Pacific Property Awards at a gala ceremony hosted in Kuala Lumpur on 9 May.
The Asia Pacific Property Awards are the regional counterpart of the International Property Awards and celebrate the highest achievement by companies operating in all sectors of the property and real estate industry.
Singapore’s Westgate won the Best Mixed-Use Architecture Award. Embodying the city’s commitment to green design, the 91,700m2 development unites its retail podium and crowning high-rise office tower through a holistic scheme which connects visitors with large vertical green walls, bubbling streams and boulevards of palm trees, both inside and out.
EAST Hotel received the Highly Commended honour for Hotel Interiors for its design that pushes the boundaries of the traditional business hotel. Local art integration, a connection to the natural landscape and sustainable design as a LEED Gold development have been key considerations for the 369 room hotel which has become a favoured destination in Beijing and indeed China.
Meeta Patel, Director and Head of the Singapore studio commented at the awards ceremony, “Once again we are very proud to be recognised as leaders within both the Architecture and Interior Design disciplines. Westgate and EAST Hotel both established a new way of thinking within their sectors and we congratulate our dedicated teams for forging ahead with their creativity and originality”.
