Dalki Theme Park + Shop – major building design
A retail and entertainment complex by Ssamzie Corporation of Korea, a flagship building for their Dalki product line. Dalki is a brand developed around a cartoon character created specifically as a marketing tool. It is similar to the Hello Kitty brand in Japan.

Mattel wanted a store where “Barbie is hero”; expressing Barbie as a global lifestyle brand by building on the brand’s historical link to fashion. Barbie Shanghai is the first fully realized expression of this broader vision. This Manhattan architects practice led the design including the exterior, interior, fixtures, and furnishings. Slade’s design is a sleek, fun, unapologetically feminine interpretation of Barbie: past, present, and future.

Avalon Bowery Place
At Avalon Bowery Place II, 22 East 1st Street, the Manhattan architecture firm were charged with designing the interior common spaces for this ninety unit rental apartment building by the developer AvalonBay Communities. The practice collaborated with SLCE Architects (Architect-of-Record) and Arquitectonica (Building envelope design).

The masterplan proposes an exhibit of very large houses each encircled by a public footpath juxtaposing two conflicting desires: private retreat and public display. We accepted this tension as a primary design challenge.
Shark Exhibit Building, Coney Island, New York, USA

Shark Exhibit Building
The design proposes to create an iconic gathering place at the end of the boardwalk. The building is like a wooden dune on the boardwalk. It allows visitors to climb to a view of the aquarium interior or sit and look out at the boardwalk and beach.
