Brussels Housing Contest, Belgium
Sergison Bates wins Brussels housing design competition – first place in the design contest to redevelop the former industrial Tour & Taxis site.

Architect of the Year Award Shortlist
The architecture practice has been shortlisted for the Architect of the Year Awards 2016 for their body of work in both the Housing and Refurbishment categories.

The submission for Housing includes the recently completed residential projects in Vienna, Austria and Aldershot, Hampshire and the specialist housing currently being developed for Pegasus Life in Hampstead.

For the Refurbishment category, the SBa projects considered are the Hult International Business School campus in Whitechapel, and private houses in Fulham, London and Monte, Castel San Pietro, Switzerland.

Cottrell & Vermeulen were announced as the winners at the Awards ceremony on 9 March.

Antwerp Housing Design Competition
SBa have won a prestigious international competition for a large-scale development in Antwerp’s docklands area, across the water from the three twin-towers by Diener & Diener, David Chipperfield Architects and Tony Fretton Architects.

The proposal was submitted in collaboration with developers CIP and local architectural practices Bovenbouw and Bulk Architekte and consists of five buildings that make up a 25,000 m2 urban block in the Cadix regeneration area. The scheme is due to start on site in 2016.

Zurich Office, Switzerland
30 Nov 2015 – On the 1st of December the Zurich office is moving to a new studio at Badenerstrasse 125.

Located in rural northeast Wales this building by London architects Sergison Bates was nominated for the Mies van der Rohe Award in 2009 and is a major centre for contemporary crafts.

The project involves the complete redevelopment of an urban site on Seven Sisters Road, on the edge of Finsbury Park in north London. Three new urban villas of varying height are arranged around a shared pace and are treated as a tightly knit cluster, continuing the typology of villas on Seven Sisters Road and providing forty-four one- to four- bedroom apartments for mixed tenure.
