Sonnwendviertel 2
Multi-Generations-Living in the new Sonn2 – smart, fresh, intelligent. The new building is the missing mosaic stone in the development area Sonnwendviertel. It is the beginning and transition to Helmut Zilk Park. High building density and a wide range of uses are the central challenges for this ecologically and economically viable building.

The taller part rises out of a one- to-two storey plinth zone that has incised outdoor areas and private patios, and is shifted back from the lower, differentiated block edge. The freestanding elements are articulated by stepping, incisions and the individual projecting verandas.

At first glance the long building with its flatly folded facade looks unlike an office block. It lacks the usual glass facade and double glazed skin. Located south of the centre of this provincial capital, it is distinguished from surrounding housing by its large and lively form. Here and there loggia-like volumes are cut out of its massive volume.
