PENSON have won both “Interior Design Practice of the year” & “Small or Medium Commercial Project of the Year” Mixology 2013
PENSON has for the second year running picked up an award at the annual Mixology13 Awards consecutively winning “Interior Design Practice of the Year” and this year “Small or Medium Commercial Project of the Year”.
Since Lee Penson founded the practice just eight years ago, this London architecture office has gone from strength to strength delivering a number of impressive, boundary-pushing schemes for leading clients such as Google and Jay-Z.
The architecture firm’s award-winning, multi-lingual & diverse team is focused on providing talented exterior and interior architecture with integrated structural & civil engineering consultancies. This architecture firm specialises in all types of buildings and uses.
The team is unique because of it creative thinkers who sit together and communicate with the teams mathematical engineers – enhancing coordination & efficiency. The London architecture firm strives only for perfection and develop by working hard to dream up imaginative solutions, whilst dedicating even more attention to every projects commercial & deliverable needs.
The secret to the success of this award winning agency, is to quote the architecture practice itself: ‘We do not chase turnover. We solve problems. It just so happens that we draw too!’
It is due to this successful formula that PENSON team has managed to bag themselves yet another award for the very cool, yet economically efficient interiors of Roc Nations offices in London, which is owned by Jay-Z’s music management company.
The client needed something that was economically and quick! The architecture firm came armed with a specification involving a few – water based tubs of black & white glossy paint, some graphics, re-powder coated some existing stair rails & built five new rooms! The architects practice even combined some cool trinkets, bold door knockers, a giant central Marshalls stage amp, foam wall coverings & the most amazing sound system you have ever heard in a space that had a spend of only £22 per square foot! The project was completed in three weeks ready for the Jay ’Z “Brits” after party.
The Mixology Awards concentrate entirely on the office interiors market. All submissions are judged by an independent panel of experienced architects, designers and consultants which recognises the highest standards of architecture and design.

Poole Bus Station Redevelopment
Being appointed by the consortium formed with Wilts & Dorset Borough of Poole, Go South Coast and Grosvenor Estates, the architects were asked to solve a long standing problem of developing solutions to create impact with a minimal and strict budget. All of course, under the gaze of local public opinions and the scrutiny of local businesses.

This architects office has been appointed by the University of the Arts London, to design an important new public building for Camberwell College of Arts at Peckham Square, London under the gaze of the Stirling Prize winning Peckham Library. The scheme had to solve some complex issues regarding land ownership, underground services and budget constraints. Not that this hindered the architects with creating a beautiful scheme that is totally original and has, in just five months since being appointed received detailed planning consent.
