Benoy has released its masterplan vision for a new capital city on a vast expanse of land immediately east of Tashkent, covering an area of 20,000 hectares. As a twin to the existing capital, the city has been designed to revitalise the Old City whilst bringing renewed strength, prosperity and identity to this growing nation in Central Asia.

Benoy’s design for the new China International Travel Service (CITS) Sanya Eyot scheme in Hainan is progressing with the latest designs being released this month. The development makes up the second phase of the wider CITS scheme which already includes the first phase DFS development, the world’s largest of its kind.

Benoy is proud to announce the appointment of Tom Cartledge, former Global Director – Commercial and Operations, to the role of CEO.

Since joining the Benoy Team in 2013, Tom has been an integral member of the global directorship and instrumental in guiding the firm’s corporate strategy. Bringing his breadth of experience working with retailers, developers and investors to the firm, he is a key advisor to the business and active in exploring new sectors and developing new revenue streams.

The architects practice is extremely honoured to announce that Parc 66 has won the 2013 Best of the Best VIVA (Vision-Innovation-Value-Achievement) Sustainable Design and Development Award. The award was presented as part of the International Council of Shopping Centre’s (ICSC) global awards program at the ICSC annual RECon Conference in Las Vegas.

Having previously won in 2008, this is the company’s consecutive Award in the category of International Trade and so perhaps even more significant, acknowledging both commercial excellence and consistency.

The architects firm announce completion of their first hotel in Asia, with the opening of the EAST Hotel in Beijing. Located in the Chaoyang district of Beijing, this is Hong Kong-based Swire Groups’ second EAST brand hotel; the four-star business hotel is part of the new mixed-use retail-led ‘INDIGO’ development, set to become a prime business destination for Beijing. Benoy’s scope of work has included the Masterplanning, Architecture, Facade and Interior Design for EAST hotel, and the entire INDIGO development.

The client, Lujiazui Group, have been responsible for the development and implementation of Shanghai’s Pudung Central Business District since the 1990s.
