In the area Hatert, at the edge of the city of Nijmegen, the housing corporations Portaal and Talis organize a great renewal operation. Most of the current housing does not comply with contemporary standards or needs a substantial make over.
For this operation the city of Nijmegen worked in cooperation with the office of Khandekar towards a masterplan in which most of the present houses are renovated or renewed. Besides this upgrading, the open areas in the neighborhood will be filled with several new housing projects.

Panyaden School
In the lush green surroundings of a former fruit orchard, where Thailand’s highest mountains meet the flat rice fields, Panyaden School contracted 24H to design its environmentally friendly school buildings. Located south of the city of Chiang Mai, this 5,000 m2 primary school consists of an informal arrangement of pavilions (salas), organized along pathways inspired by the shape of the tropical antler horn fern.
This original design has since evolved organically to its final form which is still in keeping with its original purpose of creating buildings from earth’s elements and shapes that are an ode to nature’s beauty.

Rijkswaterstaat Office Assen, Netherlands

For Rijkswaterstaat, who are building and maintaining highways, waterways and nature, 24H-architecture designed the new districts head office along the highway in Assen, The Netherlands. The ambition of the client and the architect was to create a sustainable building that explicitly shows the identity of Rijkswaterstaat. The concept was developed with the idea to represent their three core activities and also integrate the typical ingredients of the site.

Soneva Kiri Resort, Koh Kood, Thailand

This 6 star hotel resort Soneva Kiri is located on Koh Kood, an island in the Gulf of Thailand. At this unique site, 24H-architecture designed a series of ecological icons to contribute to Six Senses’ high ambitions in design and ecology. Most prominent is The Children Activity and Learning Centre, which will provide visiting children a wide range of entertaining activities as well as raise the level of ecological awareness with them.
This Den provides an Auditorium/Cinema for films, lectures and plays, a library with books on permaculture and local traditions, an Art room, a Music room and Fashion room, thus giving children both creative and ecological education while playing.

24H Biography

On 01.01.’01 Boris Zeisser and Maartje Lammers founded 24H>architecture in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Maartje Lammers was born in 1963 and graduated from Technical University of Delft in 1988. Boris Zeisser was born 1968 and graduated from Technical University of Delft with honourable mention in 1995.
Before starting their own office Boris Zeisser and Maartje Lammers worked in several well-known architectural offices like (EEA) Erick van Egeraat associated architects, Mecanoo and the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (Rem Koolhaas).
