Information on the expansion and renewal of the museum building:

“The fact that we will soon have a cloakroom does not seem so spectacular (name me a museum of any size that doesn’t have one…), but the fact is that up to now we have asked 1.2 million visitors per year to keep their coats on and carry their bags or backpacks in front of them so as not to damage the collection (the bookcase!). Soon we won’t have to ask that any more; visitors will be able to hand in their coats and will have to hand in their bags. That’s a big improvement for the preservation of the collection, for climate control (no more damp coats in the museum), for security and for our service to the public.”
