Ice Sports Center in Lausanne
Location: Lausanne, Prilly, Renens, Switzerland
Design: Mauro Turin Architects
The Ice Sports Center Lausanne building conceived from the inside to the outside with the ice rink placed in the center, an immense prismatic trunk space that maximizes the perception of the vacuum.
Surrounding it in perfect visual and physical continuity, a cloister form internal main street, a big alive and buoyant atrium that intensifies the experience of the space.
The swimming pool, the secondary ice rink and the spaces of fencing / table tennis fit in the perimeter of the atrium to enrich its real-life experience throughout the days and the year.
A suspended building, with a vast space of ninety meters by eighty five meters which floats without intermediate supports so that nothing puts obstacle to the atmospheres of the events.
Long glazed surfaces that dissolve the limits of the inside and the outside to intensify the visual experience with the city, the railroads and the former industrial site.
Our project did not certainly persuade the jury that eliminated it in the first tour of the judgment.
A project that remained, as so many others, idea and dream.
