The Fashion Outlet in Wigoltingen mediates between the urban industrial
buildings of a former mill and the adjacent countryside. A horizontally
structured building complements the older, vertical industrial buildings.
The soft forms of the landscape are mirrored in the volume of the building.
The blending of the architectural body with the countryside integrates
the large volumes naturally into their surroundings and creates an important
added value. The building and the facades are placed in the natural space
in a way that avoids all hierarchy of directions. The sculptural forms
of the three parts of the building highlight the radiation of the volume
to all sides.

Each of the three buildings represents an independent body, with a clear
architectural and urban position to the surroundings, both on its own
and in combination with the other volumes. Thanks to the folding of the
closed parts of the external surface, the facades appears as a textile
curtain. The folding is interceded by the floor-to-ceiling windows, adding
a playful rhythm to the facade.
The stages of the construction process for the three buildings can function
separately from the aspect of urban planning and architecture.
