Aberdeenshire Council has supported Muir Group’s plans for a £115m
resort and housing at Blairs College, lower Deeside.
Plans include a championship course - designed by former Open winner Paul
Lawrie - a hotel & conference centre in the listed former Catholic
seminary, and 280 homes.
Aberdeenshire Council’s Kincardine and Mearns area committee supported
the plan but rules introduced just two weeks ago (following the controversy
re Donald Trump’s ‘best golf course in the world’ proposals)
mean the plans will now be referred to the council's infrastructure services
committee, then to full council, and finally to the Scottish Government.
