The project consists of audio and video studios, offices and social areas for 100 staff. The core idea behind the Skype software application has generated the design concept for the interior of the new office; the idea being that Skype is a useful and playful tool that allows chats, voice and video calls over the Internet. A pattern has been derived from an idea of voids emerging between the abstracted interconnected nodes symbolizing the interconnected world. Raiffeisen Finance Center, Eisenstadt, Austria Pichler & Traupmann Architekten photograph : Lisa Rastl Raiffeisen Finance Center The design of the building playfully responds to the restrictions imposed by the building regulations as well as to the schedule of accommodation for the different floors, and develops an encasing figure that encloses all the activities of the bank in a continuous form. The continuity of the building envelope conveys a sense of identity to both staff and customers, while the building’s volumetric shaping ensures it a striking role in the appearance of the town. It is made of aluminium sandwich panels whose colouring might awaken associations with coins or the bank’s corporate identity. Sowwah Square, UAE Goettsch Partners image from architects Sowwah Square Commission by Mubadala Development Company to design Sowwah Square, a new business center on Abu Dhabi’s Sowwah Island in the United Arab Emirates. The project totals 3,125,500 square feet of office space and features an iconic stock exchange building surrounded by four office towers, all overlooking the water. In addition, the project integrates two levels of retail and two underground parking structures. Abu Dhabi’s recently published urban framework plan, entitled Plan Abu Dhabi 2030, has designated Sowwah Square as the city’s new central business district.
