‘The Twist’ By Big-bjarke Ingels Group At Kistefos

Kistefos will open a new exhibition space titled ‘The Twist’, designed by BIG-Bjarke Ingels Group.

Described by Danish architect Bjarke Ingels of BIG Architects as an ‘inhabitable bridge’, the building takes a sculptural form, twisting as its midway point as it crosses the Randselva river.

The programme will complement that of the surrounding sculpture park, which already includes works by Elmgreen and Dragset and Anish Kapoor and begin with ‘Hodgkin and Creed – Inside Out’ from 18 September – 17 November.

Imaginatively created by Norm Architects, the house comprises of six overlapping cubes clad with Kebony, a beautiful wood recommended by leading architects. The Gjøvik house makes for an intimate and dynamic family home with materials, levels and inbuilt tailor-made furniture to create a cosy and minimalistic home.

Refurbishment of the former industrial building designed by architects Ove Ekman and Einar Smith and completed 1899. This area along the Akers River was historically referred to as Ny York (New York) due to its explosive development in 1858. Today the area reflects a transformation towards a district focused on art, architecture and design.

The Astrup Fearnley Museum of Contemporary Art is to reopen on 29 September in Tjuvholmen, the newest arts district of Oslo. Previously located at Dronningensgtate 4 for 18 years, the privately owned museum is now part of the new Icon Complex, developed by Selvaag Gruppen and Aspelin-Ramm Gruppen, and designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop in collaboration with Narud Stokke Wiig architects.

S333 worked in collaboration with Bergen-based architects 3RW Arkitekter and ecologist Christian Mong to transform the 390 ha site into a new residential district comprising of 6000 – 7000 new homes, services, amenities and recreational areas.

Whilst the steel truss sections for the upper lamellas are being lifted into place by Northern Europe’s largest mobile crane, prefabricated façade elements produced in central Sweden are being mounted on the lower lamellas.
