Nordlands Museum, Bodø, northern Norway
Kvorning Design & Communication presented the winning concept draft for a new national experience and knowledge centre for Nordlands Museum. The centre named Anna Karoline will focus on the heritage of Norwegian Jekt shipping and is located at the lake of Bodø in northern Norway.
The Jekt is a Norwegian freight vessel with a wide body and sails. For more than 400 years it was built along the coast stretching from Vestlandet and northwards. The world’s only remaining Nordlandsjekt ‘Anna Karoline’ will form a central part in the dissemination of Norwegian Jekt shipping and shows the heritage of boatbuilding in north-western Norway.
