Buildings in Inner Mongolia
We’ve selected what we feel are the key examples of Mongolian Architecture. We aim to include buildings that are either of top quality or interesting, or ideally both.
We cover completed buildings, new building designs, architectural exhibitions and architecture competitions across Mongolia. The focus is on contemporary Mongolian buildings but information on traditional buildings in Inner Mongolia is also welcome.

CapitaMall Nuohemule, Hohhot
CapitaMall Nuohemule stands as a new, comprehensive kind of contemporization: far beyond a simplistic mall refurbishment with superficial re-application of materials, it is about extracting the essence of a building and converting it into a new, adventurous, and future-proof concept that manages to withstand and challenge the strong competition of urban retail precincts with its unique offer.

Revolving Sail Bridge in Mongolia
The bridge consists of a main floating section which gives buoyant support to three expanding walkways, and a carbon fiber triple sail which is raised and lowered by the buoyancy rotator. The bridge is a flexible structure that can relocate by sailing along the river to its new position. To do so, it folds into multiple sections that stack into each other.

Erdos Museum Building
This Mongolian museum building is located in a city that is currently being built, almost overnight. Driven by a booming economy, the Municipal Government of Erdos has determined to build a new city centre, dozens of kilometers away from the current city. There was nothing but the Gobi Desert on this site in 2005. An urban masterplan was created, entitled ‘Ever Rising Sun On The Grass Land’.
