Public Design Festival - International Competition, Italy

On the occasion of the first edition of its Public Design Festival, esterni announces an international call for entries to search for ideas and projects for public spaces; among all submissions, 10 projects will be selected, carried out and presented during the festival, that will take place in Milan on April 18-26.

Theme of the Competition
The competition consists of the planning of an intervention on a urban parking area (2x5m). Different kinds of projects may be presented - i.e. installations, communication projects, community services, actions, urban furniture items

During the Salone Internazionale del Mobile (Milan's International Furniture Fair), esterni will try to further highlight the important and central role of public spaces.

After 13 years of actions, projects, ideas, and concrete proposals - and after the experience gathered with its public design project - esterni presents its Public Design Festival: a festival aimed in the first place for designers and architects, but also for public administrators, companies, and common citizens to focus on public spaces, and on how they are conceived and designed, or, on the contrary, neglected.
