Capita Symonds is providing multidisciplinary services for the state-of-the-art research facility which will be crucial in helping to develop and improve cancer treatment.

The MCRC is a partnership between The University of Manchester (incorporating the Paterson Institute for Cancer Research and the Wolfson Molecular Imaging Centre); The Christie; and Cancer Research UK.

The building will focus entirely on laboratory-based cancer research, turning laboratory discoveries into new tests and treatments for patients. Its work will be further aided by the immediate proximity of the MCRC’s partners – including The Christie’s clinical trials unit in its £35 million Oak Road patient treatment centre.

The facility is expected to be operational in summer 2014.
