Malta Maritime Authority Centre Architecture Project The Malta Maritime Trade Centre seen from the service area picture © David Pisani / METROPOLIS Description The project involved the construction of an office complex to house both the offices of the Malta Maritime Authority and those of the other maritime related entities. View of the ancillary block and of the west block picture © David Pisani / METROPOLIS The building responds to the harsh environment created by the busy thoroughfare of Pinto Road by having its entrance facing the harbour thereby opening itself up to natural light of its South facing orientation. East block façade photograph © AP Louvered screens on the South facades protect the glazed surfaces from the summer sun whilst allowing the rays at a lower incidence to penetrate in winter.
