Madrid Architecture - Introduction
Madrid is the capital of Spain. There is a wealth of architecture in the city, from the Caixa Forum to the Hotel Puerta America.
Major historic architecture includes the Prado Museum, Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum (Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza), Palacio de Aranjuez, Royal Palace of Madrid, Royal Theater and Real Basilica de San Francisco el Grande. These buildings are possible to visit on our Madrid Architecture Tours.
The Bernabeu Stadium (Estadio Santiago Bernabeu) - home of Real Madrid - and designed by Estudio Lamela is also worth a visit.
Significant recent buildings include the Barajas Airport by Richard Rogers Partnership with Estudio Lamela, Caixa Forum by Herzog de Meuron, Carabanchel 16 – housing by Foreign Office Architects, Madrid Architects' Association by Gonzalo Moure, Mirador Sanchinarro by MVRDV / Blanca Lleó Associates, Museum ABC by Aranguren & Gallegos Arquitectos, High Council - Chambers of Commerce by Rafael de La-Hoz Arquitectos and the Reina Sofía Museum of Modern Art Building by Ian Ritchie Architects.

Madrid Architecture Walking Tours
Madrid Architectural Tours can focus on traditional buildings, contemporary buildings or both. The Madrid Architecture Tour can be an introduction to the city's main buildings or can be tailored to your group's interests.
Walking Tours of Madrid can involve advice (for an agreed fee) ahead of trips about types and areas of buildings.
We are more than happy to accommodate your needs and interests on our Madrid Architecture Tours.
We can provide information on programme, geographical areas and building types up to a year ahead of your architecture tour. For example a group of architects interested in innovative social housing could be provided with tailored information allowing a tour programme to be agreed prior to their visit to Spain.
Visitors can be met from the airport, their accommodation, or at the starting point of their Spanish architecture walking tour.
