The hotel, aimed at both business travelers and tourists, constitutes a unique building type within the masterplan.

To encourage public interaction, the public facilities open onto The Diagonal and More London Place at ground level and can be accessed independently from the hotel. Fully glazed elevations to these areas will maximise visual permeability and allow activity within the building to bring vitality to the spaces outside.

The design consists of three interlinked ‘strips’, which mediate between the disparate contexts of Tooley Street’s historic Conservation Area and More London’s contemporary towers, progressing from nine storeys on Tooley Street to thirteen storeys towards the waterfront.

The project recognises the value of incorporating leisure uses in emerging business districts to promote true regeneration, rather than desolate office ghettoes inhabited only in the daytime on weekdays.
